George Braque, Still Life with Clarinet
George Braque, Still Life with Clarinet
This is a wonderful original artwork by George Braque (1882-1963), entitled Still Life with Clarinet, painted in 1927; the original painting now in the Phillips Collection in Washington DC. He was a contemporary of Picasso and is famous for his Fauvist, Expressionist and Cubist style paintings. This is an original print, framed in 1964, made by a technique known as Pochoir, an original artwork made of layering color with stencils. So it's a print, but not a poster or lithograph; rather, it's a handmade artwork on brown paper, based upon the original painting. Very nicely framed in black wood with glass. 33' x 25" including the frame. Framer's sticker and date on the back.
